Stop motion animation ( communication )

This is a little stop motion animation movie about communication. we did this to show different ways of communication. one thing that was really fun to do was, doing the colour key. colour key is like green screening. unfortunately it didn't work for us. something that i learnt is that it takes a looong looooong time to make. you need to have a lot of patience and persistence when things don't go the way you want them to. i wonder how some people have the time to make an actual movie using stop motion animation. Lisa gets bullied by Patrisha because she has a beard. Then Jacob comes in and he stands up for lisa and patrisha apologizes.

Marimba Festival

On Wednesday the 7th of November, round about 115 kids came from schools round NZ came to Tauranga, to perform a selection of songs about ... the ocean. 20 of the kids came from my school. the students from my school were soooooo lucky because we had the choice of going and participating, most other kids were selected or had to audition. We were the first school from Gisborne to ever participate in this marimba festival. One thing that stood out to me was that everyone that participated had different instruments. They obviously had the same thing but they were different styles. There were also violins, a saxophone and a shell horn. I feel like we were like a big orchestra performing in front of fancy people. There was like a couple hundred people watching us play. It was an very fun experience that I had.

Dear Staff and Students of Central School, I am writing this letter to thank you for inviting us back to the past, and showing us how your school has been developed in the years, through your awesome production - This is us - Anei Matou. All 130 of us kids and staff at Makaraka school are proud of you for going up on that big stage and participating in the show. I thought that it was cool how you shared the narrating round, instead of one or two people doing it themselves. It was also cool how you had Maori Language and you translated it in English so than we know what it means. I really liked how you guys were singing over top of the music, it just filled the missing gap. Another thing that I absolutely adored was your costumes. I'm still wondering whether you made them or you bought them because they were absolutely amazing. The performance helped me understand the story more about your school. As they say, you learn something everyday, and that day I learned sooo much. For example, I learned that Central School first opened in 1857! One of my favorite things in your production was the props, I loved all the detail and it looked like it took forever to do. One of the highlights for me was a literal highlight. It was a fantastic idea to put lights on your logo and I thought it was outstanding! I give a BIG HAND to the boys whos played James Cook and Kiwa, that must have been sooo hot in there. Again I give a BIG HAND to the BIG HANDS. I felt so happy after seeing your production and I think you were too. I also hope that you have another one next year, and I bet it's not going to be just good, but it's going to be awesomely super fantastically amazing! All 430 kids at your school would have been very proud of yourselves and each other. And again I thank you inviting us to your production. It helped me learn a lot more than I already know about Turanganui A Kiwa and your school.

My Speech

This is the video of my saying my speech. Before I presented my speech I was really nervous, I had tingles running up and down my spine, butterflies flying around in my tummy and my hands were shaking like there was a mini earthquake in them. But ....... when i started to say my speech I got more relaxed and I think I took a chill pill. And after I said my speech I felt so proud of myself and I had accomplished my goal of being proud of myself and being me.

The old rust bucket

In class we are reading a book called trash and we got set a task to right a description of the old rust bucket/ old house.

Bushes swaying in the wind making a swishing sound. While cats meowing with the breeze harmony. And rocks clashing together with the sound of metal to metal.

Rocks tumbling down the hill. Trees dancing along with the wind. Poles so still like a statue, but a boring statue.

Sky so gloomy and plain. Chimney white but shadowy and foggy. Ground so rocky and dull.
