On Wednesday the 7th of November, round about 115 kids came from schools round NZ came to Tauranga, to perform a selection of songs about ... the ocean. 20 of the kids came from my school. the students from my school were soooooo lucky because we had the choice of going and participating, most other kids were selected or had to audition. We were the first school from Gisborne to ever participate in this marimba festival. One thing that stood out to me was that everyone that participated had different instruments. They obviously had the same thing but they were different styles. There were also violins, a saxophone and a shell horn. I feel like we were like a big orchestra performing in front of fancy people. There was like a couple hundred people watching us play. It was an very fun experience that I had.
